The Drag 4 is the latest iteration from VOOPOO. It’s amazing to see a twin 18650 high-wattage device with so much emphasis on pod systems and disposables recently. The Drag 4 has a power range of 5-177W and is powered by two replaceable 18650 batteries. VOOPOO has updated the menu and screen layout, as well as added a dedicated locking switch. There’s also a redesigned C-Frame design for easier battery access. The Drag 4 is available independently or as part of a kit with the new UFORCE L tank, which we will examine shortly.

Features

The Drag 4 is a dual 18650 device that is capable of outputting up to 177W.
It comes with VOOPOO’s new GENE.TT 2.0 chipset. It features 4 different power modes:

• Smart = Automatically sets power based on the resistance of the coil.
• RBA = Full variable wattage (with no limits)
• ECO = Battery saving mode
• TC = Temperature control supporting Ni200, Ti, SS316, SS430 materials.

VOOPOO has said they have made improvements to the TC mode, which now supports where it ‘accurately identifies these 4 most commonly used heating wire materials’.

DESIGN & STYLE

Drag’s design language is one of the most striking among vape mods. VOOPOO has always done an outstanding job of ensuring that all Drag devices look and feel the same and plainly belong to the same family. It’s no wonder, however, that the Drag 4 looks and feels very identical to its predecessor, the Drag 3. They did, however, make a few minor alterations to the design, as well as one major one. The biggest difference is that they have abandoned the spring-loaded battery hinge on the bottom of the device in favour of a C-Frame design.

The magnetic C-shaped battery sledge fits perfectly on the device with no play. It’s also simple to remove and replace, making it a significantly superior solution in my opinion. The door or battery cover is likewise a nice combination of leather on the back for comfort and a hardwood finish on the sides. I know the Drag 4 is available in a variety of colours and materials, but there’s something about the style on the one we have in for review that I adore – classic and simple. The screen and the features within it are the other obvious modifications in the Drag 4’s design. The screen looks brighter and crisper to me than on the Drag 3.

SUMMARY

The Drag 4 is a fantastic high-wattage dual-battery gadget. VOOPOO has done an amazing job of enhancing an already excellent product. The new screen layout and menu system simplifications make it exceedingly simple to use. The presence of the locking switch increases overall use, and the fact that you can personalise its operation is fantastic. The tablet itself is quite well-made, and the new C-Frame battery cover is a significant upgrade. Under the hood, it’s essentially the same, and there are no complaints as far as power production and fast fire are concerned. The Drag 4 is one of the greatest dual 18650s available today.
