Product Review of Aspire Vilter S

INTRO

So here it is—the brand-new Aspire Vilter Starter Kit! I do enjoy a small starter kit, though. Even though I have been vaping for over two years, I always enjoy learning about new products in the pod industry, especially kits that assist smokers in switching! Helping someone go off those stickies is one of the things that gives me the most satisfaction. I knew I wanted to review this kit as soon as I saw it. As usual, UK Aspire Vendor was incredibly helpful when I contacted them with my inquiries about the pods and filters. They really are one of the best vaping companies to work with, and I don’t just say that because they offer a free review kit either.

DEVICE

You can see that I got the grey. The Vilter uses an oxidation polishing technique on aluminium alloy, giving it a shiny, premium appearance while still remaining incredibly light at 30.8g. The kit is 107.2 x 22 x 12.5 mm in size. Branding is understated, which is how I like it. There are no controls for the airflow or buttons. It’s nice that the LED light is not one continuous beam; rather, it is rather mesh-like, like a honeycomb. The charge port is located on the side, and there are two tiny air holes on either side.

There are no controls, so all you have to do to start vaping is fill the pod up and put it back into the device. The two magnets ensure that the pod stays put and fits snugly. The LED just serves to indicate the state of the battery; it will illuminate during charging and turn off after it has finished.

THE POD

A standard Delrin drip tip and two filter-style drip tips constructed from a combination of food-grade paper and PET are included with the Vilter. You can inhale and exhale like you’re smoking a cigarette using the paper filter drip tip. Additionally, they claim that it lessens condensation, but I found no evidence of either. I combined nic salt juice and 50/50. It has a bright orange bung and is a bottom fill. It rests on the base’s corner, making it simple to remove with a nail. The fill hole is typical for a pod kit, however, you must be sure to push the nib in all the way to prevent your e-liquid from flowing.

Both of the drip tips that I tested out perform excellently. The paper one and I do mean slightly, offers you a tighter draw, in my opinion. I’d give the draw a 2 to 3 on the DD-Drawometer (1 being the tightest and 10 very loose). then flavour. The flavour is not the best I have experienced, but it is most definitely not the worst. Since I am a huge chaser of flavours, this is important to me. You need to give the coil time to break in, but you get a respectable flavour. I would estimate that after about seven days of heavy use, the flavour started to diminish.

PROS

  • Super easy – perfect for newbies
  • Decent flavour
  • Zero leaking
  • Nice tight MTL draw
  • Charges quickly
  • Choice of paper drip tips

CONS

  • Would have preferred a larger battery capacity
  • Throw away pods – not environmentally friendly but a positive for ease of use

VERDICT

Although I am unsure of the retail costs for this combination, I am confident that they will be reasonable. The original Vilter kit, which I still adore, has been greatly improved. The PowerBank option is wonderful since it eliminates the need to find a charging location and leave your device unattended while it charges. Simply plug your device in and you may charge or use it while you’re on the go. Well done, Aspire, and congratulations on the new logo.
