Latest Product Review of Innokin Sensis

INTRO

Innokin has existed from the beginning of time. With their iClear Clearomizer, their enduring starting kits, the T18 and T22 kits, and a plethora of other items over the years that have become household names, they established themselves as a world-leading vape brand many years ago. They recently entered the pod market with their well-received “Sceptre” pod and earlier with their EQ series. They’re now entering the race with a Pod Mod, though! This one is completely new, was only recently introduced, and demonstrates Innokin’s genuine commitment to innovation by including a few neat little features you’ve probably never seen before! Check out the Innokin Sensis Kit now!

DESIGN & BUILD QUALITY

The Sensis’ primary body is constructed of zinc alloy in the shape of a C-frame, with leather for the heel and trim work that lends it a little futuristic, manly vibe. It has a high-quality construction that shows no traces of wear and appears to be quite durable; even after the occasional drop, the paintwork shows no symptoms of damage. Your pod recess is located up above. It has a magnetic ring connection inside, and three power connectors with a common ground supply the coil with electricity. The airflow adjustment slider is located below and opens vents in the side slots to let air into the space beneath the Pod.

The full-panel firing button, which also houses the full-colour display and adjustable controls, is located on the device’s front. I really enjoy this since you can just squeeze the device in your hand to fire it instead of looking for a button. The USB Type-C charging port, which has a fast charge rate of 5V @ 1.7A and is located below the front panel, is last but not the least. It enables you to charge the device while it is upright.

PODS

The Sensis Pods are similar to Voopoo Drag S/X Pods in that they are circular and connect within the device through a ring. This makes it simple to place the Pod on top of the gadget without giving it any real orientation. It will always connect even if you spin it in a circle 360 degrees. The Glass Pod is one of the Sensis’ distinguishing qualities. Glass has always been the chosen substrate for tanks since some plastics leach and make it difficult to readily wash off certain flavours. With a glass tank, you can be sure there won’t be any lingering flavours from the previous flavour while switching flavours. The glass pod for the Sensis is friction-fitted together with a silicone seal on a stainless steel base to prevent leaks.

This Pod’s 3ml capacity, which is not a lot but is adequate for what it is, means that you will need to replace it more frequently than you would with other Pods. There is a 510 drip tip up top, which I believe is made of Delrin. In addition, there is another drip tip in the package that is more suited for mouth-to-lung vaping, which is a great touch from Innokin. The coils push in from the bottom, just like many other Pods. They are simple to replace and form a good seal.

You must remove the Sensis Pod in order to fill it because the fill port is located underneath. It is concealed by a silicone stopper that, when removed, displays a fill port with a respectable size. Although most bottle nozzles can fit into this fill port, it can be a little uncomfortable because of the fill port’s smaller size. To fill the Pod smoothly and avoid back pressure pushing e-liquid out the hole, I’ve discovered that I actually need to shove the nozzle right into the Pod. A little larger fill port, which would have allowed air to escape more effectively while filling, would have made this operation a little bit better.

BATTERY LIFE

I don’t like that the Innokin Sensis lacks a battery % indicator. The colour of the battery bar, however, changes as the battery level decreases.
Green = Above 50%
Yellow = 20% – 50%
Red = Below 20%
Additionally, the “Secondary Screen” provides information about the battery’s current voltage. The 3,000mAh battery in the Sensis is, in my opinion, enough, albeit I personally prefer additional batteries.

Innokin justifies the internal battery by stating:
We can control the quality of the battery by making it internal. There are also more safety features installed with an internal battery. Safety has always been and will continue to be one of our top priorities.

How you use the smartphone will have a significant impact on how long the battery lasts between charges. For instance, if you are utilising the Coil+ mode, each puff will require a little bit more power. But in its most basic version, 3,000mAh is more than enough for a 40w mod. When I used it at 35W, it lasted me all day every single day. There is no reason why it shouldn’t last 2 days if you’re using it at 12 weeks. In terms of charging, it often took 1.5 to 2 hours. While this may seem like a lengthy time, I don’t believe it’s generally a bad thing, especially considering how long the battery can last.

PERFORMANCE

The draw was considerably too tight on the original Drag Nano, which was one of our criticisms. It required a lot of labour to get it to operate and was challenging to put on. This problem is not present with the Innokin Sensis, and the draw activation is flawless. Despite the tight mouth-to-lung pull, vaping is not difficult. The 0.8-cent capsule has excellent taste. Even at the medium power output level, my e-juices deliver the entire taste profile along with the warm vapour. When the airflow is open, a loose mouth-to-lung draw result, which may be changed by shutting it to a tighter MTL draw. My favoured setting for this pod was medium power. Ejuices with nicotine salt vaporise exceptionally well and don’t have a strong flavour. This pod’s drawback is that it has trouble chain vaping higher VG e-liquids (those 70VG or more). In my perspective, the 1.2 pod is even superior overall. Although significantly less strong, the flavour is still fantastic. The draw is tighter even with the airflow open, and it doesn’t have any difficulties with high VG e-liquids, which is why I prefer this pod more. Chain vaping poses no issues at all. I discovered that the high (white) power level was ideal for this pod. If you find high nic e-juices to be too powerful, nicotine salts of various strengths work incredibly well and you may change the power level.

COILS

The Sensis Kit comes with 2 unique coils. The Sceptre Pod uses coils of the exact same size as these coils. Both of them are extremely little, and in order to utilise them, they must be fastened onto an adaptor. The S-Coil, one of the coils Innokin created especially for the Sensis kit, adds to the variety already offered. Regrettably, though, because of its excessively low resistance, it will not function in the Sceptre.

Innokin S Coil 0.25ohm (pre-installed)
The 25–35W recommended wattage for this coil is quite accurate. It works quite well for a more constrained DTL vape, for which it was created. This coil gives me a good, rich vape with a pleasant flavour. The more airflow you have, the less flavour you’ll receive. Fortunately, the adjustable airflow slider makes it simple to reduce airflow. I did observe that the vape gets dryer as you approach the 35 Watt cap, so proceed with caution—the 35 Watt maximum advice is not an idle suggestion!

Innokin Sceptre S Coil 0.65ohm
It really is a Mouth to Lung coil because the suggested power for it is 9–12W. Although I haven’t had much success with this one, I’ve found that the best results come from using the maximum recommended wattage and having the airflow nicely dialled in. But be careful because firing it for a long time with a lengthy drag will shorten the lifespan of this coil. Any further reduction in wattage simply results in a loss of flavour and a very, very cool vape. My advice is to vape it like a true MTL and use more nicotine than you typically would. A cooler, more airy MTL vape is simply not enjoyable.

CONCLUSION

Innokin has created some extremely unique equipment overall; I admire the variety of modes’ inventiveness and have been having fun tinkering with the F0 (frequency mode) and changing the pulse it delivers. The Refresh and Coil+ capabilities may seem a little gimmicky to some, but in my opinion, they are useful and do make a difference. The 40 Watt power cap is somewhat restricted, and I wish they had included a coil with a higher firing limit—say, one that could go above 33 Watts—without drying out. As usual, I do have a few complaints. The fill port in the pod, which is actually too small and has the propensity to experience back pressure when filled, would benefit greatly from having a little larger hole.

Really, the remainder of the device performs as promised and, I have to say, even goes above and beyond expectations. The Innokin Sensis produces a pretty excellent, dense vape that would compete with other devices that operate at higher wattages while being restricted to a 40 Watt maximum. Would I suggest it? Despite the drawbacks I’ve outlined, it’s a well-designed device with some cutting-edge capabilities, and most of all, it’s an Innokin product, so you can expect top-notch design and construction. If you prefer vaping at under 40 Watts, this will be an excellent addition to your collection. Wonderful job, Innokin!
