Product Review of Vaporesso Luxe 80

INTRO

The LUXE 80 is an AIO kit made by VAPORESSO, a business that has recently had success with pods and AIOs in addition to other fantastic mods like the GEN S and LUXE. Their most recent offering is a portable AIO system designed for low- to medium-wattage DL vaping. The gadget has a huge colour screen, a 2500mAh internal battery, and a variety of other features made possible by the most recent AXON chipset version. Wattage adjustments are also possible. It includes a custom 5-mL pod tank that accepts the GTX line of coils, which I have tested in a lot of VAPORESSO products in the past.

BUILD QUALITY AND DESIGN

An AIO system that is tiny and portable is the LUXE 80. It’s about the same size as their SWAG PX80 kit, except instead of a 18650, it has an internal battery. It is not overly hefty, but it has just the right amount of weight to feel sturdy and well-built. It is around the same dimensions as the PX80 at 111.1 mm x 39.4 mm x 28 mm, though somewhat smaller overall.

The colour they offered in “Gorilla” is what I got. The only difference between the colour selections is the panel on the other side, which is the same satin gunmetal frame and leather on all of them. One of the four possibilities, the gorilla colour, has smooth leather instead of the other four options’ crocodile-textured leather. My leather is fantastic; it looks great and feels nice and thick.

I’ve had no paint chipping or issues with the device at all. There are three buttons on the front: fire, up, and down. On the front of the device, you have the 0.96-inch colour TFT rectangle screen which is nice and bright, and easy to see. The screen is excellent on this device. Branding is kept very simple, with a VAPORESSO on the back and a small LUXE in the corner above the leather panel on the side. All in all, it’s really a good-looking AIO system with plenty of colour options and nice features to it.

PERFORMANCE

The coils are likely to be the most crucial component of any pod device; many good systems have been wrecked by subpar coils. The GTX coils from VAPORESSO, which I have tried and reviewed in numerous devices, are used in the LUXE 80. There are two coil options available.

  • A 0.2-ohm mesh coil rated for 45-60 watts
  • A 0.3-ohm mesh coil rated 32-45 watts

A 0.6-ohm mesh coil rated 20-30 watts, a 0.8-ohm mesh coil rated 12-20 watts, and an RBA deck are the other options that can be purchased separately. Additionally, two selections are marked as “coming soon” on their website. I utilised quite a few of these coils in the past, as I mentioned above when I evaluated earlier VAPORESSO devices powered by GTX, so I was already familiar with them. You can infer from the PM40 review that this kit’s optional coils are not included. But since this kit uses the same coils as the PX80 and PM80, I was able to compare my results and determine whether the coils were reliable.

I ultimately had the same experience. The 0.3-ohm coil is reliable but not as good as the 0.2-ohm coil around 35 watts. The 0.2-ohm coil is excellent for flavour and longevity and performs best at 40–45 watts. Both coils work perfectly with the kit, however, if you want a DL vape, it’s preferable to choose the 0.2-ohm coil when buying replacements. You can experiment with the higher resistance settings for MTL. The coils are good all over and are simple to locate because they have been around for a while.

BATTERY LIFE AND CHARGING

The device is listed by VAPORESSO as having a 2A charging capability and a 2500 mAh internal battery. 1.86A was the maximum charge rate I was able to achieve throughout my tests, which is more than sufficient to receive a 2A rating. There are no issues there because anything that is higher than 1.8 is appropriate for a 2A rating.

The gadget also permits passthrough vaping, so you can continue to smoke as it charges. An acceptable charge time is one hour and eleven minutes. However, I did receive a usable 1890 mAh battery for the size. Companies frequently overestimate battery sizes these days. It’s gotten to the point where I anticipate them to consistently overestimate things by 20%, but this one was approximately 24-25% overblown, so I’ll give them a failing grade. Vaporesso has a tendency to overstate battery capacity, so I hope they investigate their mod settings and the battery supplier they employ to get more accurate lists in the future.

I previously mentioned in my IJOY AirGo review that overrated batteries are not just the fault of businesses. Manufacturers of batteries frequently list higher capacities in their spec sheets, but soft cell cut-off prevents all of the capacity from being used. In any event, a 2000 mAh rating would have been more appropriate and adequate in this situation.

CONCLUSION

Overall, VAPORESSO did a good job with this device. In many ways, it’s like a crossover between the PX80 and the GTX GO kits. The PX80 was a great kit, and if you don’t want to deal with batteries, this is a perfect option. I wish they would have used the SWAG pod tank instead though, as it’s just better than the GTX tank when it comes to filling and replacing coils. Still, the cons are pretty minor, and it’s a great option for DL vaping on an AIO kit.
