Review of Latest Product Aspire RiiL X

INTRO

The Aspire Riil X Pod Kit is set to be released this month, featuring a luggage-inspired matchbox-style body and a stylish silver neck chain. Let’s take an in-depth look at the new device and its features! Aspire is on a roll with the hits lately. The Flexus range has seen a huge expansion, and now, Aspire is set to release a premium pod kit with a sturdy metallic body and a glamorous neck chain for extra portability. Plus, it’s compatible with the Aspire Flexus replacement coils range, which vapers have come to love for their seamless flavour and vapour production. We had the good fortune to acquire a sample of the product for evaluation, and I have to admit that this kit is a serious contender. Finding any flaws with the item at all has proven to be quite difficult.

DESIGN & APPEARANCE

A metallic chassis and a robust plastic pod make up the Aspire Riil X, a matchbox-style pod kit with a form inspired by luggage. A user handbook booklet and a package of accessories are included in the box that the 86g gadget is shipped in, along with a spacious box and lovely presentation. Aside from the E-Liquids, everything you need to start using the kit is included in the box, which is fairly large and measures 15cm x 15cm x 4.5cm. The Riil X has rounded edges, a metal loop on one side, which retains the dangling Aspire brand tag, and is constructed of strengthened zinc alloy. The metal loop connects to the chain lanyard that is included. Strong bolts are used to secure the device’s body at the corners. There are indentations on the front and rear that resemble those on hard-shell luggage. The adjustable airflow switch is located on the device’s opposite side, and it can be adjusted to be entirely closed, half open, or fully open, giving you the choice of switching between MTL and RDTL vaping modes with the swipe of a finger.

ASPIRE RIIL X AIRFLOW SWITCH

On the device’s bottom is the charging connector, and the LED indicator light is hidden under the Aspire logo along the bottom front of the Riil X’s body. While vaping, this light will illuminate green, blue, or red to indicate the battery’s current capacity. When the LED flashes 15 times, the battery is dead. The Riil X FAQ page has further information about the LED indicator light. Despite its somewhat heavier construction (which I don’t mind at all), the Riil X feels exceptionally solid all around. I frequently drop my vapes because, as many of you are aware, I am quite clumsy. This vape is perfect for me since it’s sturdy enough to remain placed and doesn’t shatter when it hits the ground when it does fall (I’ve only dropped it maybe 3 times). I commend Aspire for the build quality because it is a robust vape.

BATTERY LIFE & PERFORMANCE

I was somewhat discouraged when I saw that the device has only a 700mAh battery, while other smaller (and cheaper) pod kits have even larger ones. The VooPoo Vinci Q, for instance, is a very cheap vape kit with a 900mAh battery. Still, the Riil X has something that the two latest devices in the Flexus range lack: 2A charging. While all of the latest devices are USB Type-C, the Flexus Stik and the Flexus Blok both have 1A charging, which is slower than 2A in comparison. Paired with these devices’ larger battery sizes, you’ll be waiting a while for your vape to charge.

This isn’t the case with the Riil X pod kit. The first day I used it, it took over 3 hours for the battery capacity to drop from 100% to below 60%, and when it did come time to charge the device, I only had it on charge for about 20 minutes before the indicator light was back to green. So, while this device does have a slightly smaller battery compared to some other kits on the market, Aspire makes up for it with lightning-fast 2A charging.

INTERFACE

The Riil X has no buttons or settings to mess with, which makes operation an absolute breeze. Every time you pop in a new coil, no matter which resistance, the internal chipset automatically sets the output wattage for you, which means you never accidentally fire at the wrong wattage. Still, the other devices recently added to the Flexus range offer multiple power settings, so I was ever-so-slightly disappointed to see that missing from this device. I guess that’s the trade-off for a buttonless vape experience.

The Riil X’s auto-draw feature is seamless; it has a hair trigger and never misses a puff—not even by a half-second. Overall, I feel like the performance and features in the Riil X were very carefully thought-out, delivering a perfectly hassle-free device with all of the bells and whistles that current MTL and RDTL vapers are looking for (minus all of the features these vapers don’t need, like buttons).

PODS & COILS

The pod itself is made of a strong, sturdy PCTG material and should only ever have to be replaced if it becomes cracked, leaky, or no longer holds its coil securely in place. Thankfully, we carry the Aspire Riil X Replacement Pod on our website if you’re looking for a spare. The mouthpiece has an ergonomic duckbill shape, which fits nicely between your lips, and the pod is held in place by two ultra-strong magnets, ensuring that it’s never accidentally detached from the device. The Riil X pod is perfectly transparent, and while the E-Liquid level is obscured when the pod is inside the device, you can easily turn it upside down to see how much liquid you have left thanks to the crystal-clear material.

The press-fit coils have a mesh build for denser flavour, and the option of either a 0.6Ω (ohm) or 1.0Ω (ohm) resistance allows you to choose between thicker clouds or more discreet vapour production (respectively). The Riil X comes with one of each coil included, so you can easily decide which one you prefer. I tend to favour the 0.6Ω coils for a more RDTL-style vape. Moreover, these coils are particularly excellent because they last me much longer than others do. I tend to prefer kits that take pods with built-in coils, but the pods will usually only last me a few days before the coil starts going bad due to the sweetness of the E-Liquids I use.

CONCLUSION

Truthfully, I have very few complaints about the Aspire Riil X pod kit because it’s such a great small vape kit. With the possible exception of providing a few additional colour options and a little larger battery, there is nothing I would alter about the gadget. There is good news, though, because Aspire has committed to creating a limited edition 24k gold-plated version soon! About us and aesthetics, the Riil X is a remarkable small package. From the flavour to the activation of the auto-draw feature, I haven’t had a single issue using the gadget. My requirements for the ideal daily vape are all met by the Riil X.
