Review of Latest Product Geekvape B60

INTRO

The B60 or, as it was labelled on my test kit and in some places on their site, the Aegis Boost 2, is the latest pod system by Geekvape. Geekvape has been making excellent products for many years. Their most famous ones are that of the Aegis line, which is the line this device is modelled after. The Aegis Boost 2 is an AIO pod vape, and like its predecessor, it’s made to be light but also rugged. Its internal battery is listed at 2000 mAh, and it comes with refillable pods that have a massive 5 mL capacity. The device uses the B series of coils, which have been used in a variety of devices in the past, so they are readily accessible. The original Aegis was the first rugged mod with an IP certification—and really changed the way devices are made—while the original Boost was a really good and reliable AIO. Keep reading to find out if the Aegis Boost 2 is a worthy entry in these lines.

BUILD QUALITY AND DESIGN

The Geekvape B60 is a compact, single-battery mod kit-sized AIO/pod in the Aegis design that is bigger than standard pods. The B60’s rear leather panel and svelte frame design will make it clear to anybody who has seen an Aegis smartphone that it belongs to the series. When you first handle it, just as with all other Aegis goods, you can tell it’s well-built. Additionally, it has an IP68 rating for water and shock protection, much like the rest of the range. It’s unquestionably a portable pod vape that can withstand damage. The product comes in seven different hues. Close up, it truly is stunning, and mine didn’t show any signs of colour fading. Each colour pops out individually since they are all full-body colours, which is a far superior design to some devices where only the screen is different. The silver one I received for evaluation has a great two-tone design with a silver frame, a gunmetal body, and a grey leather backing, however, it isn’t as spectacular as some of the other colours (the bottle green looks wonderful in photographs). It won’t damage surfaces it is placed on and won’t tip over easily thanks to the beautiful sticky grey rubber covering on the bottom. The gadget has three buttons: an up button, a down button, and a fire button on the top and bottom of the front. The side lock bar on this smartphone is one of its nicest features. It locks the gadget as you slide it down, allowing you to pocket it without having to switch it off or worry about it shooting. Simply move the bar up to unlock it after that. The front also has a stunning 0.96-inch curved colour screen that is bright and easy to read, and it displays settings, a battery metre, a puff counter, and other information. Overall, it’s a very typical AIO with a tough and military appearance.

PERFORMANCE

The coils are going to be the most crucial component of any pod vape. This employs the B series of coils, which we’ve seen in devices like the original Boost and the Boost Plus, as well as in devices of other lines like the M100 and Z Nano tank. Recently, Geekvape has been doing well with coils. Since they are a well-known brand, finding them should be simple. There are a total of five coil configurations available, with power options ranging from 10 to 58 watts. The pod features top ventilation to lessen leaks, however, this does affect performance. The B0.2 and the B0.6 coils are the two that are part of the package. I began with the B0.2 coil, rated for 50–58 watts, and I discovered that it worked best around 50–55 watts. The taste was rather ordinary. It’s possible that the top airflow is simply recognised for having less taste, but because devices like these aren’t designed for flavour chasing, it makes sense.

BATTERY & CHARGING

Oddly, neither the instructions nor the company’s website had a charge rate for the internal 2000 mAh battery that powers the B60. The Type-C connector is situated at the bottom of the device’s front. It should be rated at 2A and is perfectly on par with devices that charge more quickly, according to my testing, which showed a maximum charge rate of 1.87A. It has a battery capacity of around 1700 mAh, thus I think it’s a little bit overstated. To be honest, the majority of devices are rated roughly 20% higher than what you really receive. It’s a reasonable rating given that the battery’s capacity may have been overstated by the manufacturer and that testing will reveal a lower capacity due to the soft cell cut-off. In the great scheme of things, this one is higher rated than a lot of other devices since it is overestimated by roughly 15%. A full charge took 64 minutes to complete, which is rather quick for this capacity. Additionally, it supports passthrough vaping, allowing you to use it even as it charges.

OUR VERDICT

The E60 features a built-in, non-removable battery while being smaller and more portable. But it’s a big one, and 2550mAh isn’t anything to laugh at. The 0.20 and 0.30 coils are included with this device, but I do not advise purchasing the 0.15 coil to use with the E60. I’m simply not sure if the internal battery can properly manage its high amperage requirements. However, while utilising the two provided coils, the 0.20 coil at 60W will quickly drain your battery while the 0.30 coil will give you respectable battery life and use periods. It is an excellent tiny kit, with a focus on little. This is the package to choose from if you want a DL experience but prefer smaller devices. It still has a tonne of power for a gadget its size. It’s definitely something to think about for midrange vapers. Additionally, the pod tank’s screw-off top fill is a brilliant innovation and a huge step forward for pod-style systems.
