Review of Latest Product Innokin Klypse

INTRO

The newest pod system from Innokin is the Klypse. With no settings, modifications, or even coil swaps, it aims to deliver a great MTL vape right out of the box. It uses changeable pods, has an internal battery of 700 mAh, and has a useful magnetic mouthpiece cap. Innokin is perhaps the vape business that gives new users the most attention out of all the others. It appears that they’ve done it again because Klypse keeps taking home prizes at vape expos. Continue reading to learn if the Klypse can actually help you stop smoking and, more importantly, if the excitement around it is justified.

DESIGN & QUALITY

Though it isn’t really that small, the Klypse is a stylish little gadget. It is not one of these incredibly small vapes, measuring 94 mm by 29 mm by 15.2 mm with the cap on the mouthpiece. Although moving the mouthpiece cap to the bottom adds 17 mm to its length and makes it closer to the Caliburn A2 and Wenax H1, it is still shorter than those instruments. The device is a little bit bigger than the ones in the other two dimensions, but it is still small enough to fit in your pocket.

Now for the elegant part. Like many other Innokin vaporizers, the Klypse was created with simplicity in mind. With a slim black accent at the side with the Innokin brand and a black top and bottom, the device is primarily one colour. Nothing modern or leather or textured frames here. Just a plastic-based aluminium alloy surface that is smooth. The 2 mL pods have a faint tint and some of the strongest magnets I’ve ever seen on a vaporizer hold them in place. It’s not because the pod was delicate or anything; on the contrary, I occasionally found it difficult to remove the pod from the machine. They really are that powerful! This takes me to the main character in this story.

The mouthpiece’s magnetic cap is excellent. When not in use, it can be placed at the bottom of the device and kept in place by even stronger magnets. It clicks into position over the mouthpiece in a pleasing manner. I believe that adjusting the magnetic connection has taken up more of my time than actually utilising the gadget. It is more effective than a stress ball because of the sound it creates when it sticks to the battery’s base! The cap’s length when placed at the bottom of the gadget is the only thing I don’t particularly like about it, but that is a very small flaw and you are not required to do so.

In terms of build quality, I only discovered one problem. One of the six units I got felt a little shaky when I moved it. I initially believed it to be the pod, but given these magnets, I know it was not the case. It turned out that one of the units had a loose battery. That sort of thing happens occasionally, and since it was only one unit, I’m ready to overlook it. If yours exhibits the same problem, I advise sending it back for a replacement (and leaving a comment here).

BATTERY & CHARGING

One white LED is used for all levels of battery indication, maintaining the design’s simplicity. That might be the only issue I have with this gadget. Users’ lives would have been easier with a straightforward three-colour LED, as battery life is currently somewhat of a guessing game. When the battery is less than 10%, the light will flash ten times, and you won’t be able to use the gadget much after that, so you best have a charger on hand. Regarding battery life, plan to use slightly more than one pod per charge. After one full pod, the vapour becomes noticeably cooler, thus you might be able to use it as a battery indicator. A complete charge took 55 minutes and the gadget charges at a 1A rate through a Type-C connector. You are able to vape when the device is plugged in because it enables passthrough.

PERFORMANCE

There is only ever one concern when it comes to vapes that cannot be customised: how effective are they straight out of the package? Obviously, this is incredibly personal, but the Klypse definitely hit my sweet spot. 0.8-ohm mesh pods are the only pods that are currently offered for the Klypse. The pod offers MTL vaping. It rests comfortably at the midpoint between being extremely tight and extremely loose. It is considerably more compact than the original Caliburn and perhaps somewhat more compact than the Wenax H1. If that means anything to you, I’d rank it between the Wenax H1 and the Voopoo Vinci Q.

We’ve been pampered by pod vapes in recent years in terms of flavour, and the Klypse is no different. It’s one of my favourite pods, right up there with the vapes I described in the previous sentence. It doesn’t have a particularly strong throat hit, but I’ve discovered that for beginners, a strong throat hit can occasionally be off-putting. Furthermore, some stronger nicotine salt juice can help with this. However, because the Klypse emits warm vapour, I wouldn’t go very high on the strength. Start with 20–25 mg and work your way up from there. I’ve been rotating three Klypses over the last two weeks, so I can’t say for sure how long the coils will last, but I’ve only recently had to replace one of the pods. I’ve never experienced a dry hit with 70VG juice, however for an extra throat hit and to make your coils last longer, I’d recommend using something closer to 50/50.

CONCLUSION

It will be challenging to find a beginner-friendly vape that checks more boxes than the Klypse. It offers a terrific vape right out of the box, is comparatively small and lightweight, and is almost foolproof. Just fill it up and start vaping; there are no buttons or settings. Although it’s not the first device to accomplish these goals, Innokin simply has a knack for creating goods for soon-to-be ex-smokers. Something about the Klypse’s sophisticated appearance just clicks (and a mouthpiece cap that clacks, in a super satisfying way).

I just have two complaints to make here. One of my units had a shaky battery, which may have been a deal-breaker if Innokin hadn’t given six units, and the battery level indicator was underwhelming. However, despite these two drawbacks, the Klypse is still well-regarded. Please consider the Klypse if you or someone you know is trying to quit smoking.
