Review of Latest Product Vaporesso Gen PT60 | 80S

INTRO

The primary difference between the two kits I’ll be evaluated for this review is the kind of battery. The GEN PT80S, which uses a single 18650 battery, and the VAPORESSO GEN PT60, which has an internal battery with a capacity of 2500 mAh each. The innovative xTANK, a pod tank with top airflow for optimal leak protection, is used by both AIO devices. Instead of being only partially compatible, as we’ve seen in some of their other devices, the tank uses the well-known GTX coil series and is fully compatible with all of them. Over the past few years, VAPORESSO has produced a number of well-designed, high-performing products. Find out if VAPORESSO’s history of reliable beginner-friendly AIOs is continued by the GEN PT60 and the PT80S by reading on.

BUILD QUALITY AND DESIGN

Small AIO pod systems in the style of boxes are the PT60 and PT80S. Both gadgets are incredibly portable and light. The PT60 is the smaller of the two, while the PT80S is a little bit higher to accommodate the external battery. Both have a similar streamlined style. The item has a lovely magnetic battery door on the back and the battery fits perfectly.

The names of the two devices are derived from their maximum power outputs; the PT80S is 80 watts, while the PT60 is 60 watts. They both have wonderful hand feel and ribs for grip (and your hand-feel pleasure.) They come in six different hues. Since each hue covers the entire body, they all stand out in different ways. For this evaluation, I obtained the light silver versions. All of them are silver, and even the tank has a metal top that matches. For the xTANK, all the other colours have a black top.

There are three buttons on the device: a fire button on the top front above the screen, and the up and down buttons below the screen. They both have the same screen which, disappointingly, is black and white. I’m guessing they wanted to keep costs down and price them competitively since they are beginner-friendly devices, but VAPORESSO makes some of the nicest colours screens out there and some colour would have made the devices even better. They are bright and easy to see through. All in all, they are pretty standard AIOs, but they are well-built, very lightweight, and done right.

PERFORMANCE

Coils will be the most crucial component of any pod device. We’ll compare this to the most recent Pod systems from VAPORESSO, which featured excellent coils. These devices employ coils from the GTX line, which I have used frequently on a number of different devices and found to be an excellent line of coils in general. It was only compatible with some GTX line coils when I most recently reviewed the GEN AIR 40. But the amazing thing about the xTANK is that it is completely compatible.

Each device comes with two coils in the package:

PT60

  • A 0.2-ohm coil rated for 45-60 watts
  • A 0.4-ohm coil rated for 26-32 watts

PT80S

  • A 0.15-ohm coil rated for 60-75 watts
  • A 0.3-ohm coil rated for 32-45 watts

The power of the devices works nicely with each of the provided coils. There are a total of seven coils in the GTX line, but because of the substantial airflow, I’d just use the DL coils. The four coils mentioned above are hence the best choices in the end. Overall, all four coils were at least acceptable, but I discovered the 0.2-ohm coil to be the best compromise because it performs well at 50 watts and provided me with excellent coil life and consistent flavour. The other three are also excellent choices, and since it’s a well-known line of coils that should be simple to locate, you can be sure that you’ll have a usable, high-quality vape for a very long time.

BATTERY LIFE AND CHARGING

The GEN PT60 has an internal battery with a capacity of 2500 mAh, a charging rate of 2A, and a Type-C connection behind the up and down keys. My testing revealed a maximum charge rate of 1.83A, indicating that their rating is reliable. I received 56 minutes of charging time. Great rating once more, and a pod system charges quickly. The majority of pods work like this and charge up in one hour to 90 minutes. It has a little bit more than 1650 mAh of battery capacity, thus I believe it to be somewhat overstated.

To be fair, the ratings for the majority of devices are roughly 20% higher than what you actually receive. Plugging it in reveals that charging begins at 25% when the gadget indicates that the battery is low and it won’t fire. Therefore, when the battery is under 25%, it can’t handle the power well, which reduces the amount of useable battery life. I see the rationale behind this battery’s rating because it would have had a higher useful capacity on a device with a lower wattage. But a value of 1800–2000 mAh would have been more accurate. You won’t come close to a good 2500 mAh battery’s lifespan.

In order to compare the battery life I obtained from the PT60 with a 18650 that is labelled at the same capacity, I decided to test the PT80S with a 2500 mAh 18650 battery. I got substantially better battery life out of it. My maximum charge rate for the PT80S during testing was 1.87A, giving it a good rating at 2A as well. Both use passthrough vaping, which is now commonplace.

INTRO

VAPORESSO did a good job with these devices overall. Due to its size and weight, I really like the PT60 for a beginner’s DL device. However, you should be aware that the battery life is closer to that of a device with 2000 mAh stated capacity. But aside from that, it’s a fantastic little AIO. Although the PT80S is a touch larger, intermediate vapers will benefit greatly from the ability to swap out batteries without having to wait for a charge. Just what you need is what matters. Both are useful, simple-to-use carry-around DL gadgets.
