Vape Review of Innokin Sceptre Tube

INTRO

The Innokin Sceptre Tube kit is a mouth-to-lung (MTL) and restricted direct-to-lung (RDL) pod device with two fixed adjustable wattage power levels (18W/20W) and an integrated 1300mAh battery. A Type-C USB charging connector with a 5V/1A specification and a multicoloured LED encircling the semi-raised octagonal fire button are both built into the Sceptre Tube’s body. The Sceptre Tube case has a single Cyclops airflow slot, and rotating the attached pod allows you to change the airflow.

BUILD QUALITY AND DESIGN

I have dropped the Sceptre Tube a few times with no problems, and although it doesn’t have a “solid feel,” it feels quite light and seems more than strong enough for regular use. It has a single, square firing button on the front that does not ratchet when you shake the gun. The amazing LED that surrounds the fire button will glow a few times after you finish your puff to indicate the battery charge. In contrast to many devices where the light immediately turns off after your puff, it makes checking the battery life very simple.

Although the Sceptre Tube doesn’t seem particularly “firm,” I have dropped it a few times without incident, and it seems to be more than strong enough for regular use. The single button on it is a square fire button that is located on the front; the button does not rattle when pressed. When you finish your puff, the amazing LED that is located around the fire button will blink a few times to indicate the battery charge. Contrary to many devices where the light immediately goes out after you take a puff, it makes it quite simple to check the battery life.

PERFORMANCE

The Sceptre Tube has two coils, but they are both 0.5-ohm coils and use the S-coil line. I received a bundle of the 1.2-ohm coils to test as well, even though they are marketed individually. I’m glad this kit included a replacement coil because, for some reason, some kits still don’t. One more coil, a 0.65-ohm one, is available, but I wasn’t provided with any of those.

It was enjoyable to try out these coils since I had never used any of them previously. Innokin often produces excellent low-wattage coils. I first used a coil with a resistance of 0.5 ohms and 50/50 and 60 VG juices. As a result of the device’s limited output, I utilised high mg salt cigarettes. For a 20-watt coil, the flavour I received from it was pretty good, and I got 30 mL of juice from it, so it had a really good life. A coil like this should provide roughly 20 mL on average.

I next applied the 1.2-ohm coil. The taste was excellent. Good but not outstanding. There is a slight increase in MTL compared to the 0.5-ohm coil, but not much. Regarding coil life, I anticipated about 10 mL from a coil like this and received 16 mL, which is a respectable amount. Overall, both coils are nice, but I preferred the 0.5-ohm coil, so just use that one.

BATTERY LIFE AND CHARGING

This device’s battery does seem to last a long time; for the majority of users, it should be an all-day vape. Even with the 0.5-ohm coil, you may vape multiple tanks before needing a recharge. The 1.2-ohm coil will give you an extra life. They give the battery’s 1300 mAh capacity and 1A charge rate, however, they leave out the charging time. It charges through a Type-C connector. My tests yielded a maximum charge rate of 0.79A, which is sufficient for a 1A rating because most businesses round up. I received 1232 mAh in terms of capacity, which is excellent and deserving of a 1300 mAh rating. Many businesses, sometimes up to 20%, overestimate battery capacity. This is significantly overestimated by 5%, which is OK.

I timed the charging process at 1 hour and 44 minutes, which is a little excessive for a device like this. Normally, I’d count on an hour, maybe even 90 minutes. Although this device’s big capacity contributes to its lengthy charging time, I would have preferred a faster charge rate. It would take around an hour to charge if it had a 750 mAh capacity. Passthrough vaping is also available. After each puff, the LED around the button will illuminate, and its hue will serve as a battery indicator

  • Green: 50-100%,
  • Yellow: 10-50%
  • Red: 0-10%

Thought it could be better spaced out because I find the spacing to be a little wrong. The norm is a three-step indicator, but the varied spacing is used on most devices. Red should be beneath 0–30%, yellow should be between 30–70%, and green should be between 70–100%. I will penalise them for that. Additionally, I would want to see businesses add a fourth step while increasing it by 25% at a time. Although that would be great, no businesses appear to be doing it at the moment.

PROS

  • Good build quality
  • Lightweight and durable
  • Nice throwback pen/tube design
  • Tank is held in firmly by magnets
  • Lightly tinted tank (easy to check juice levels)
  • Adjustable airflow
  • Two power mode options (low and high)
  • Three coil options
  • Uses an existing good coil line so it’s easy to find coils
  • The 0.5-ohm coil is really good (and the 1.2 is solid)
  • Great battery life
  • Good rating for charge rate and battery capacity
  • Passthrough vaping
  • LED stays lit for a while (easy to check battery level)

CONS

  • Only one coil type is included
  • A coil adapter should come with every coil
  • The battery meter is poorly spaced out (and could use an extra step)
  • Charges slowly
  • Capacity is kinda small for a tube AIO (2 mL)

SUMMARY

Overall, this kit was well-made by Innokin. It does have certain peculiarities, such as the spacing between the battery metres, the requirement for an adaptor for the coils, and the somewhat slow charging. Overall though, it’s a low-cost, simple-to-use gadget with a long battery life and decent coils that works well as a starter kit or a backup low-wattage portable device. If you’re looking for something in this style, it’s really difficult to go wrong with this kit.
