INTRO
I was overjoyed to discover that everything matched the gorgeous pictures I had seen of this kit after opening the attractively packaged box and discovering all the key components arranged in their proper places on a foam cutout.
I was fortunate enough to get the blue version, which is my favourite colour. I love how the dark blue at the bottom of the device transitions to a lighter shade of blue at the top, matching the CROWN V Tank. Even the drip tip has a colour-coordinated metal band at the base for a stylish accent, and even the O-rings are the same hue. Only 1 of the device’s 5 diagonal leather accent panels, which are located inside the side panels on both sides and serve as the battery door cover, is detachable.
The CROWN logo is angled downward on the battery door cover. Up to a 25mm atomizer may be utilised without overhang thanks to a tiny bump out on both panel sides in the top centre. The base of the CROWN V Tank is actually 24mm in diameter, despite UWELL listing it as 29mm in the centre of the bubble glass tube.

EASY TO USE
The Crown 5 is a little bit unique. The airflow adjustment ring, which has an outside diameter of little more than 26mm, causes the device’s rather narrow base to enlarge. The clearomizer’s top and bottom engravings shake up the traditional shapes of this kind of equipment. It’s nicely done and presented well.
The clearomizer’s top (top cap) has a unique function. Inside is a metal component with a spring mounting. To access the filling hole on the Crown 5, you must squeeze the top cap while simultaneously unscrewing it by a quarter turn. It’s a smart idea in and of itself to prevent the unintentional opening that can occur with slide systems. This kind of opening and closing seems a little strange at first, but you get used to it pretty soon. To prevent opening the clearomizer, you must make careful to grasp the tank while doing this rather than the atomizer’s base. It is not particularly difficult, and once mastered, it quickly becomes automatic. The broad drip tip makes vaping with it feel like using an 810 format that has been modified for direct-to-lung inhalation. The drip tip is actually a 510 format, though.
EXCELLENT RESISTANCE COILS
A silicon cap with a slot is attached to the e-liquid filling hole. This ensures that even when the cartomizer is turned upside down, it won’t leak. Although the biggest bottle nozzles should be avoided, the majority of them fit. With its cartomizers, Uwell has developed the practice of including mouthpiece covers. This is a smart move, particularly if you plan to carry it in a purse or pocket. It doesn’t go misplaced too easily thanks to its vivid colour. On the drip tip, it barely holds a position. It’s unlikely that it will continue very long.
At the base of the Crown 5, there is an airflow control ring. No matter which mod you select, it is simple to spin and is neither too tight nor too loose. The resistance coil that is positioned in the clearomizer’s centre is cooled by two sizable air holes that are opposite one another. The amount of air can be greatly reduced or significantly increased thanks to efficient airflow fluctuation. There are two resistance coils included in the box. For use between 50 and 55W, the UN2-2 is 0.3 ohm. For use between 65 and 70W, the UN2 has a 0.23-ohm resistance. They both mesh. The bare minimum you can say is that they perform an excellent job.
PROS
- Excellent flavour and cloud production from the included coils
- The CRC safety cap has been well thought out
- Plug-and-play coils are very easy to install/change
- Excellent knurling on the deck. Easy to make adjustments to any MOD
CONS
- The airflow control ring is somewhat loose (subjective)
- The gasket fill port doesn’t cater for escaping air so the tank is prone to leaking
- Restrictive qualities aren’t as diverse as hoped for
- Unable to remove the glass tank for maintenance (subjective)
- The tank guzzles juice. A 2ml tank full won’t last very long (subjective)

SUMMARY
I have to admit that this kit came up to the hype in terms of both functionality and aesthetics, scoring extremely highly on all counts. It is also incredibly comfortable to use with either the trigger finger or thumb shooting. I just received quite a few UWELL products for some reason, and I really enjoy their drop-in coils for their fantastic flavour. The two coils included in the kit are no exception. Although the dual will somewhat impede airflow, I find that I like them both as well. The flavour is also the same on both.
I was astonished to see that the airflow worked just fine when it was fully open or reduced by a very small amount, not even a quarter, for a smooth vape. The tank has three airflow slots, which led me to believe that it would be an air machine, which is not my preferred method of vaping. In any situation, there are no whistles or amusing noises. Many vapers are parents of young children, so having a childproof top cap merely adds an extra layer of security. It also works really well and is simple to use.
When it comes to the device’s battery bars, there is one more pleasant feature that I failed to mention. As power is depleted from both bars, when it hits half, the battery bars turn from green to blue. When the battery bars become red from further draining, it’s time to charge or replace the batteries. UWELL added many extra thoughtful details to the tank and mod that they didn’t have to, but I’m glad they did. The chip in the Crown V operates flawlessly, providing quick fire with zero ramp-up. I haven’t had any leaks from the Crown V Tank in the time I’ve used it, and it’s worked fine.
